17. Wanted and Not

“Are you that eager to discard me?” he said, returning to their table.

“What are you talking about? I’m the best wingwoman ever!”

“I didn’t ask you out for a drink to dance with other women.”

“You don’t need to get me drunk to come home with you.”

“That’s not what I’m trying to do.”

“Then, what? Taking me out on a date?” she teased.

“You know I like you–”

“Yes, yes, but not romantically,” she interrupted

He sighed.

“Don’t be like that.”

She chuckled.

“Nah, we’re good. I know you want me and at the same time, you don’t.”
